ABOUT

My long standing interest in design has led me in many directions; from graphic, web and information design to urban planning and architecture. I’ve always been keenly intrigued by not only the things we use and the spaces we inhabit, but also how these change our sensory experiences and daily interactions.

DRIVE

The most successful designs are those that we never consciously realize had been designed, as any other form or purpose would seem implausible. As designers, we never forget that we design for people by understanding their needs, wants, and desires.

I’m interested in developing solutions that to users not only feel intuitive, but also feel natural. It is the result of a design approach that focuses on research, rapid iteration and user testing.

BACKGROUND

I hold degrees from the University of Western Ontario in both Media Studies (BA) and Popular Music (MA) where I gained a broad understanding of the economic and cultural contexts of media production. Taking with me my skills in critical analysis that I had developed, I headed out west to complete a degree in Interactive Art & Technology with a focus in design at Simon Fraser University in Surrey, British Columbia.
